Biography
I am passionate about natural medicine and am happy to share my experience and expertise with my community.
Ever since I was little, I knew that I wanted to support people in their health. When I was a pre-med student at Brandeis University, I first experienced Chinese Medicine by volunteering at a non-profit acupuncture clinic in Boston. I was amazed by the power of this medicine to transform people’s health and I knew that this was the kind of medicine that I wanted to practice. I got my Masters in Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and received my California Acupuncture License. I have a private practice in the Castro district in San Francisco.
Since holistic medicine transformed my health and my life, I love to share my knowledge of Chinese Medicine for natural healing, women’s health, fertility and healthy pregnancy. I am a featured Women’s Health columnist for the San Francisco Bay Area Women’s Journal. I offer health workshops all over the Bay Area.
I am passionate about seasonal local organic food and joyfully spend my free time in my kitchen cooking and fermenting.
My Approach
During our appointment, I will listen carefully to your needs and we will thoroughly discuss your condition. Together, we will create a proactive treatment plan designed to restore harmony and balance in your body. Since my approach is integrative, I will also work with your other health care practitioners.
My philosophy is that the natural state of the body is balance. With Chinese Medicine, we give our body the support that it needs to properly heal. Furthermore, with the appropriate changes we make in our daily life, we can move towards a path of optimal health.
I believe in educating my patients so that you can be directly involved in your own healing process. I encourage you to trust and listen to your own body. I strongly believe that we can maintain radiant health through the choices we make in our daily lives, so I educate and encourage my patients to make healthy choices. I focus on nutrition because I believe that a healthy, whole foods diet is vitally important to health. Through this collaborative process, you will feel motivated to healthier ways of living to enjoy a full, vibrant life.
My office is a beautiful and professional healing space where patients feel comfortable and nurtured. In 2009, our office won the San Francisco Bay Guardian Best of the Bay, “Best Retreat Zone.”
I value diversity and am committed to create an environment that feels safe for all of my patients.
In my holistic approach, our connection to the earth is deeply respected. Our health is directly connected to the health of our planet. For this reason, I employ environmentally friendly practices in my office. Of course, acupuncture needles have a one-time use and then are disposed of in the proper biohazard ways. All efforts are made to reduce the amount of waste and to recycle and compost as much as possible.
