I believe that symptoms are messages from the body. Whether you are experiencing pain, headaches, PMS, fertility issues, allergies, or digestive problems, your body is asking for your support and letting you know that there is an imbalance that needs to be addressed.
Chinese medicine can help uncover these underlying imbalances.
In my practice, I offer an in-depth initial visit that includes a complete review of a patient’s health history and current symptoms. We also review all of the body functions (digestion, sleep, appetite, thirst, etc.), current medications and supplements, daily diet, stress levels, and daily habits (exercise, caffeine consumption, etc).
We want to know WHY your body is creating symptoms. I take a holistic approach by taking into account all of this information. I look for patterns and uncover health issues that might be contributing to your main health concerns.
Once the patterns are identified, I make recommendations to address your main health concerns and symptoms.
And in order for you to maintain health, we need to also resolve underlying imbalances and boost the body’s self-healing reserves.
Together we create a treatment plan that feels right for you. This might include acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition recommendations, and lifestyle changes to support overall health. I might also make referrals to my trusted network of doctors and practitioners when appropriate.
If acupuncture is part of the treatment plan, we usually schedule appointments weekly (or twice a week). We also check-in with each follow-up appointment to stay on track, troubleshoot any issues that arise, and revise the treatment plan if needed.
We look for progress by noticing the changes. Sometimes we notice changes or shifts in the main symptoms right away. Other times, we notice changes in other areas of health- patients might notice a reduction in stress levels, improvement in their quality of sleep and stability in their energy levels. All of these changes are signs that we are moving in the right direction of supporting your body’s resources to heal.
After a designated amount of time, we evaluate progress and adjust the treatments if needed. Once we get to a good place where the symptoms have improved and your body is more balanced and resilient, we discuss a plan to keep you on track with your health.
I am dedicated to support you to feel better and stay healthy and well.
